A case of brutality has come to the fore amid the New Year celebrations in the country's national capital Delhi, where 5 youths have dragged a girl for 4 kilometres with their car. According to the news agency, the police found the girl's body naked on the side of the road. Delhi Police's Outer District DCP Harendra Singh has told that the body was found naked as it had been dragged for a long distance and its clothes were torn. Police have arrested five people by registering a case of death due to negligence. Along with this, the DCP told that the accused youths have told that the glasses of the car were closed and the music was playing at a loud volume, so they did not know. When they came to know, they fled from the spot.
Police have told that the woman used to work part-time in weddings and other functions and was returning home from one such event. This incident happened during this time. Along with this, the police said that the accused and the victim did not know each other.
It has been informed by the police that "A PCR call was received at Kanjhawala police station in Rohini district at around 3.24 pm. The caller said that a body was tied to a gray Baleno car and was being dragged. Wala had given the number of the car. The personnel posted on the picket were alerted and a message was given to search for the vehicle. At around 4.11 a PCR call was again received at Kanjhawala police station stating that the body of a girl was lying on the road. "
Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal expressed shock over the incident and issued summons to the Delhi Police. In a tweet, he said, "The naked body of a girl was found in Delhi's Kanjhawala, it is being told that some boys in an inebriated condition hit her scooty with a car and dragged her for several kilometres. This case is very terrible." Yes, I am issuing an appearance summons to Delhi Police. The whole truth should come out."
Talking to the news agency, the victim's girl's mother said, "My daughter was my everything. She had gone to work in Punjabi Bagh yesterday. My daughter left the house around 5.30 pm and said that she would return at 10 pm. I was told about his accident in the morning but I have not seen his body till now."
