At least 21 people have died after a massive fire broke out in a building in Palestine's Gaza Strip. Nine children are also included in the dead. Giving information about the accident, health and civil emergency officials said that the top floor of a four-storey residential building in the densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp was gutted. The fire brigade personnel had to work hard for several hours to control this fire. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared the incident a national tragedy and expressed his sorrow for the dead.

The administration says that the fire broke out in the congested Jabaliya Camp of the area, on the roof of a three-storey building. At least 21 people, including children, have been killed in a massive fire that broke out in a house north of Gaza City. The head of the Indonesian hospital in Jabaliya, Saleh Abu Laila, told AFP the bodies of about nine children had arrived at the hospital.
