Congress' search for the post of Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh is over. The Congress's high command has given its approval in the name of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who has been in Congress for the last 40 years, will be the new Chief Minister of Himachal. The official announcement of his name will happen after the Congress meeting. Meanwhile, reliable sources associated with the Congress told that the Congress's high command has given its approval in the name of Sukhu. It may be known that in Himachal Pradesh which has 68 assembly seats, Congress has won 40 seats. After getting a clear majority, the process of brainstorming in Congress regarding the new CM of Himachal was going on for the last two days. Apart from Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, there were many names including Congress State President Pratibha Singh, his son Vikramaditya Singh, and Mukesh Agnihotri. But now the Congress high command has given its approval in the name of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was the head of the Congress campaign committee in the Himachal assembly elections in 2022. Under his leadership, Congress won with a clear majority. He himself has been elected MLA for the fourth time, he contested from Nadaun seat in Hamirpur district. He is associated with Congress for the last 40 years.

Due to his being associated with the party for such a long time, he is also getting the support of the MLAs of the party. Apart from this, he also has deep access to high command and organization. At the same time, he has a very deep hold on the public. Sukhu has the support of more and more MLAs.

Sukhu started his political career as a student leader when he was a student at Government College Sanjauli, Shimla. He has been the General Secretary and President of the College Students Union. Between 1989 and 1995, he was the President of the National Student Union of India (NSUI). He has done PG and LLB from Himachal Pradesh University. After completing his degree in law, he got involved in student politics.

In the one-to-one meeting of the newly elected Congress MLAs in Shimla on Friday, more than 15 MLAs have spoken of making Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu the CM. In such a situation, it is believed that Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu can be made the next Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
