In the 33rd Senior National Fencing Competition, Chhattisgarh's RS Sargin AP was successful in winning the bronze medal in the men's event. In the national competition held in Pune, the state's player Serjin first defeated Delhi 15-01, Madhya Pradesh's player 15-14 and Punjab 15-10 in the AP men's individual event to make it to the quarterfinals. Then he defeated the player from Maharashtra in a hard-fought match 15-14 to make it to the semi-finals and assured himself of a medal.
