Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has resigned from his ministerial post after not getting any relief from the Supreme Court. Along with this, another minister in the Delhi government, Satyendar Jain, has also resigned from his post. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accepted the resignation of both his special ministers with immediate effect. According to sources, no new minister will be made in the Delhi government right now. It is being told that Kailash Gehlot will take charge of some departments of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, while some departments will be handed over to Rajkumar Anand. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been arrested by CBI in Delhi's New Excise Policy (2021-22) scam case. And on Monday, Rouse Avenue Court sent him to CBI remand till March 4. Health - Jail Minister Satyendar Jain was arrested on May 30 in a money laundering case. At present, he is lodged in Tihar Jail. Manish Sisodia holds 22 ministries including Education and PWD. On the other hand, the BJP was continuously demanding the resignation of both.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to hear Manish Sisodia's plea against the CBI arrest. Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice P.S. Narasimha told senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Sisodia, that the way was open for his client to approach the Delhi High Court. The court insisted that he should approach either the lower court or the High Court for the relief he is seeking from the apex court. The bench also pointed out that this is a matter relating to the Prevention of Corruption Act and it would not directly interfere. "This will set a wrong precedent... Just because this incident happened in Delhi, we cannot take it directly here," the bench said. According to sources, the Aam Aadmi Party will now take the matter to the High Court on the advice of the Supreme Court. The party said that we respect the court.
CBI is in trouble, not getting any information from Sisodia
The CBI is finding it difficult to get information from Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the 2021-22 Delhi Excise Policy case. A CBI source said that on Tuesday, the agency officials asked Sisodia about the files and documents that they have taken from his computer. Dinesh Arora and some IAS officers will be made to confront Sisodia, the source said. He had recorded his statement against Sisodia.
BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana said that now the question arises whether the 22 ministries of the Delhi government will now run from jail, in these 22 ministries the education ministry, and the PWD ministry are all such special ministries. Constitutional crises have arisen.
