If the Indian team emerges victorious and secures the title, Sharma may continue as the captain for the T20 World Cup the following year. However, if Team India fails to clinch the World Cup, it is highly likely that Hardik Pandya will assume the captaincy for the T20 World Cup in the West Indies.
