Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is going to conclude in Srinagar today. At the closing ceremony, Rahul Gandhi will unfurl the tricolour flag at the Congress headquarters on Maulana Azad Road. After this, he will address the public meeting at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium. Along with this, many senior Congress leaders will participate in it. Leaders of 23 opposition parties have been invited to participate in this public meeting. Rahul's sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and leaders of the party's Jammu and Kashmir unit were present during the hoisting of the national flag at Lal Chowk a day earlier on Sunday.
Rahul Gandhi took a break of about half an hour from his journey at Sonawar before leaving for the clock tower of Lal Chowk to unfurl the tricolour flag and reached the state Congress Committee's Maulana Azad Road headquarters. Security has been tightened regarding the programme. Shops, business establishments and the weekly flea market were also closed for security reasons. Many roads have also been sealed.
21 political parties have been invited to attend the closing ceremony of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has extended invitations to presidents of parties including TMC, JD(U), Shiv Sena, TDP, National Conference, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, CPI, CPI(M), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Rashtriya Janata Dal. Along with this, PDP, NC, DMK, RLD, IUML, RSP and JD(S) are also involved in this.
It is being told that some parties are not participating in it due to security reasons. According to sources, 12 like-minded opposition parties will attend the closing ceremony of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The parties that did not participate in the ceremony include Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party and TDP.
