The company said in a statement that from August 7, 28 weekly flights on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route are commencing for which ticket sales have been started. Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder, and Chief Commercial Officer, Aakash Air said, “We are starting operations with flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. "We will be connecting cities in a phased manner under the network expansion plans," he said. In the first year, we will induct two planes every month into our fleet.” Akash Air received the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 7.
