Rain and cold wave increased chill, rain alert in these states including Delhi even today
Weather Update: It rained intermittently throughout the night in the areas of Delhi and NCR, due to which the cold has increased. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have also seen heavy rain with thunder. Rain is likely over entire Northwest India today as well.
The weather pattern has changed in the country. Amid winter, it is raining in many states including the capital Delhi. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain is likely in many states including the capital. Rain has also been predicted in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab. The weatherman has predicted a generally cloudy sky with light rain and thundershowers today.

Due to the rain, there is waterlogging on the roads in many places. Hail also fell at many places in UP, whereas in many areas of Rajasthan, rain has come as a disaster. In the last 24 hours, light rain occurred at a few places over East Rajasthan, Gujarat and at many places in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad. According to IMD, today (Monday) light rain is expected in Yamunanagar, Kosli, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Bawal, Nuh, Aurangabad of Haryana and Saharanpur, Gangoh, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Khatauli and adjoining areas of UP. Moderate-intensity rain is possible.
A low-pressure area lies over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean. Around February 1, it will reach the Sri Lankan coast. Due to this, light to moderate rains may occur over South Tamil Nadu. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places.
