Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to PM Modi for Kashmiri Pandits, saying- 'calling them beggars...'
Raising the issue of Kashmiri Pandits, Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to PM Modi, in which he has condemned Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's 'beggar' remark on Pandits.
Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which he has termed it as a cruel step to force Kashmiri Pandits, who are victims of targeted killing by terrorists, to go to the Valley without security guarantees. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi said, "Hope you are well. Through this letter, I want to draw your attention to the pain of Kashmiri Pandits. The recent targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits and others by terrorists in The Valley has created an atmosphere of fear and despair."
Along with this, referring to the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said that "Prime Minister, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits met me regarding their problems at the Jammu stage of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is continuing to unite the whole of India in the thread of love and unity." They pointed out that government officials are forcing them to go back to work in the Kashmir Valley. In these circumstances, forcing them to go back to work in the Valley without any concrete guarantee of safety and security is a cruel step. And till normalcy is restored, the government can take service from these Kashmiri Pandit employees in other administrative and public utility works.
Rahul Gandhi said that the use of words like "beggars" by the Lt. Governor is irresponsible when Kashmiri Pandits, who are pleading about their own and family's concerns, are expecting sympathy and affection from the government. Prime Minister Yes, you may not be familiar with this insensitive style of local administration. I have assured the Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters that I will try my best to convey their concerns and demands to you. I will take the appropriate steps. May the blessings of Mata Kheer Bhavani be upon you."
Sharing the letter to the Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi said through Twitter that "Prime Minister, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits met me and told me their sad situation. Kashmiri Pandits who were targeted killing terrorists without security guarantee Forcing you to go to the valley is a cruel step. Hope you will take appropriate steps in this matter."
