Protests have started against National Security Agency (NIA) raids on the Popular Front of India (PFI) offices. In many southern states, PFI workers have come out on the streets. These people are protesting the NIA raid on PFI and the arrest of PFI members.
According to a news agency, dozens of PFI workers in Tamil Nadu's capital Chennai are protesting against the NIA raids by sitting on the streets. In Mangaluru too, PFI and SDPI workers are protesting against the NIA raids. Meanwhile, PFI chief Parvez Ahmed has also been arrested by the NIA from Delhi. The PFI office in Hyderabad has been sealed. Here, after the NIA raid on PFI, the security of the NIA office in Delhi has been tightened.
It is to be known that this raid of NIA is being done in the case of terror funding. The NIA team is simultaneously raiding the offices of PFI located in many states. During this, suspicious items found in the offices are also being confiscated. Along with this, many members of PFI are also being arrested. According to the information received, more than 50 offices of PFI are being raided by NIA in Kerala alone.
It is being told that a team of ED is also present in this raid along with NIA. Apart from Kerala, NIA raids are also conducting raids in other states including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi, UP, MP, Maharashtra, Assam, and Rajasthan. A while back, the NIA team also reached the PFI's office located in the Purnia district of Bihar.
According to media reports, the raids of PFI Chairman OMA Salam in Manjeri, Kerala started late at night and are continuing till now. As soon as the news of the raid was received, PFI workers are also protesting against it. Several digital devices, documents and cash were recovered during the raids. The detained people are also being interrogated. So far information about the arrest of more than 100 members of PFI has come to the fore.
