The Government of India is on the alert mode in view of the increasing threat of coronavirus infection in countries around the world including China, under which a mock drill is being conducted in all the Covid hospitals across the country today. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya himself reached Safdarjung Hospital and took stock of the preparations to deal with Corona. Along with this, the health ministers of the states are also participating in the mock drill in the hospitals of their respective states. Along with this, on December 23 last week, the Government of India approved Bharat Biotech's Nasal Vaccine as a booster dose to fight Corona, the prices of which have also been fixed by the government.
A spokesperson of Bharat Biotech Company has told that the country's first nasal covid vaccine 'Intranasal' will be available from the fourth week of January, and will be administered as a booster dose for people above 18 years of age.
Bharat Biotech International Limited has reported that the Intranasal (iNCOVACC) vaccine is now listed on the Cowin website, which will be available for Rs.800 (excluding GST) in the private market and Rs.325 (excluding GST) in government hospitals. However, hospitals can add their own charge to it separately.
This intranasal vaccine, given through the nose without a needle, will currently be available only in private hospitals. This vaccine will be given as a booster dose to those people who have got both doses of Covishield or Covaxin.
The nasal covid vaccine is given through the nose, which produces immunity in the inner parts of the nose. After the immunity is ready, it is effective in preventing such diseases, which spread through the air.
