The objective of this rehabilitation project is to provide a better and healthier living environment with proper facilities to the residents of the Jhuggi Jhopri Cluster. The DDA has taken up three such projects in Kalkaji Extension, Jailarwala Bagh and Kathputli Colony.
The allotment of these flats will also be given to the ownership rights. Under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Scheme, PM Narendra Modi will hand over the keys to their new homes to 575 people shortlisted in the first phase. About Rs 345 crore has been spent on the construction of these flats.
Citizens will get all facilities in these flats. In this, vitrified floor tiles, ceramic tiles, and Udaipur Green Marble have been installed in the kitchen. Along with this, there are public facilities like a community park, electric substation, sewage treatment plant, and dual water pipeline for clean water supply.
