PM Modi Maharashtra, Goa visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development schemes in Maharashtra and Goa tomorrow i.e. on 11 December. PM will inaugurate the first phase of the Nagpur Mumbai Expressway in Maharashtra. He will also gift the sixth Vande Bharat Express train to the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra and Goa on Sunday (December 11). During this tour, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several major development projects in both states. PM will inaugurate the first phase of Samridhi Mahamarg in Maharashtra. Along with this, the country's sixth Vande Bharat Express train will also be flagged off. On the other hand, in Goa, PM Modi will inaugurate the Mopa International Airport, the second international airport in the state. Security has been tightened in both states regarding the PM's visit. Three-tier security arrangements have already been made wherever the PM will go in Goa and Maharashtra. PM Modi will also address the concluding session of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress in Goa. Information has been given by the PMO regarding the visit of PM Modi to Maharashtra and Goa.
According to information received from the PMO, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth Rs 75,000 crore in Maharashtra on Sunday. He will inaugurate the first phase of 'Samruddhi Mahamarg' connecting Nagpur to Mumbai. The Prime Minister will flag off the new 'Vande Bharat Express' in Nagpur and then also launch the first phase of the Nagpur Metro.
The Prime Minister's Office said in a statement that PM Modi will reach Nagpur railway station at around 9.30 am, where he will flag off the Vande Bharat Express. At around 10 am, the Prime Minister will take a metro ride from Freedom Park Metro Station to Khapri Metro Station, where he will dedicate the 'Phase-I of Nagpur Metro' to the nation.
PM Modi will reach Goa after Maharashtra. Where he will inaugurate the Mopa International Airport and also address the concluding session of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress. He will virtually inaugurate the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA)-Goa, the National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), Ghaziabad and the National Institute of Homeopathy (NIH), Delhi from Goa.
Mopa International Airport will be the second airport of Goa. In 2016, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the airport. This airport, built at a cost of Rs 2,870 crore, will also cater to cargo services. The existing Dabolim airport provides direct connectivity to 15 domestic and 6 international destinations. Operations through Mopa Airport will increase to 35 domestic and 18 international destinations.
While Dabolim airport did not have a night parking facility, Mopa airport has a night parking facility. In addition, there was no cargo terminal at Dabolim, the Mopa airport will have a facility with a handling capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes of cargo. A lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the BJP workers in both states regarding the PM's visit.
