PM Modi spoke to Russian President Putin on the phone, discussed Ukraine and other issues
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which issues including Ukraine, trade, investments, and security cooperation were discussed between the two leaders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation on Friday i.e. today. According to media reports, Prime Minister Modi once again reiterated his call to Russian President Putin to end the ongoing war with Ukraine through dialogue and diplomacy. Along with this, PM Modi informed President Putin about the G20 meeting to be chaired by India and also told about India's major priorities.
According to the PMO office, in this conversation between President Putin and Prime Minister Modi, many aspects of bilateral relations between Russia and India were discussed, including energy cooperation, trade and investment, defence and security cooperation and many other important issues.
This is the fifth phone conversation between the leaders of the two countries since February this year. While PM Modi and President Putin met in person during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan in September, Prime Minister Modi said that "today's era is not of war."
