PM CARES Fund: Ratan Tata appointed as trustee of PM Cares Fund
PM CARES Fund: A meeting of the Board of Trustees was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday. During this, he said that with the participation of new trustees and advisors, the functioning of PM Cares Fund will get a broader vision.
Today Prime Minister Modi held a meeting with the PM Cares Board of Trustees. This meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of PM Modi which Union Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and newly nominated trustees attended. In this meeting, the Modi government entrusted a big responsibility to the veteran Indian industrialist and Tata Sons chairman Ratna Tata and appointed him as the new trustee of the PM Cares Fund. Apart from them, former Supreme Court Justice KT Thomas and former Lok Sabha deputy speaker Kariya Munda have also been made trustees of this fund. This information was given by the PMO.
"The Prime Minister welcomed the trustees to become an integral part of the PM CARES Fund," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. PM Modi praised the trustees who attended the meeting and contributed to the PM Cares Fund during the Corona pandemic.
According to the PMO, the Trust decided to nominate other eminent persons to constitute the Advisory Board of the PM Cares Fund. These eminent personalities include Rajiv Mehrishi, ex-Controller and Auditor General of India, Sudha Murthy, former chairman of Infosys Foundation, and Anand Shah, co-founder of Teach for India and former CEO of Indicorps and Piramal Foundation.
PM Modi said that with the participation of new trustees and advisors, the functioning of PM Cares Fund will get a broader vision. "His vast experience in public life will further strengthen the fund in making the fund more responsive to various public needs," the PMO said. Various aspects done with the help of PM Cares Fund were also discussed in the meeting.
