Part of foot overbridge collapses at Balharshah railway station, 20 passengers injured
A major accident occurred when a part of the foot-over bridge at Balharshah railway station in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, collapsed. Several passengers fell from the bridge onto the track from a height of about 60 feet. About 20 passengers were injured in the accident.
A major accident has taken place in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. A portion of the foot over the bridge at Balharshah railway station collapsed. In this accident, the people present on the foot over the bridge fell on the tracks from a height of 60 feet. 20 people have been injured in this accident, out of which the condition of 8 is said to be critical. The affected passengers were travelling from platform number one to platform number four. The passengers injured in the accident were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the team of police and fire brigade immediately reached the spot. After this accident, a team has been deployed to prevent the stampede.
According to media reports, passengers were going from platform number one to platform number four at Balharshah railway station to catch the Kazipet Pune Express. Then suddenly a part of this bridge collapsed. It is being told that around 80 people were present on the bridge during the time. The height of this bridge is said to be about 60 feet.
Giving information about the accident, CPRO CR Shivaji Sutar said that a part of the slab of the foot over bridge at Balharshah in Nagpur division collapsed at around 5.10 pm today. Some passengers were injured in this accident. All of them were sent to the civil hospital after first aid. It is a matter of relief that no casualties have been reported. Earlier a major train accident was averted in Kuppam of Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It is being told that a train was stopped there, then suddenly it caught fire. However, there is no information about any casualties in this incident.
