According to the information given by SBI, customers can easily open digital savings account through OTP and video KYC only.
Eligibility to open SBI Digital Savings Account
Any Indian citizen above 18 years of age can open SBI Digital Savings Account.
You need to have PAN and Aadhar cards to open an account.
The customer should also have an email id and mobile number for the same.
A customer can open only one Digital Savings Account in SBI at a time through one mobile.
You cannot open digital savings account through a joint account.
How to open SBI Digital Savings Account
For this, first, you have to download SBI's digital banking app SBI YONO from Android Play Store or Apple Play Store.
After that open the SBI YONO app and go to the account opening section.
Then click on Apply Now under Digital Savings Account.
Here you have to click on 'Open with Aadhaar using e-KYC' (Biometric Authentication).
After this, a new page will open in front of you, where you will have to fill in the mobile number and email id.
After this, you will get OTP. Fill it out and click submit.
Then you have to enter your personal information like name and address etc. Along with this, you will also have to upload selfies.
After that, you have to choose Services and Card Type.
In the end, you have to do your OTP verification by following all the terms and conditions.
After this, your digital savings account will be opened.
