Widows living in Vrindavan of Mathura district have sent 501 rakhis and 75 national flags to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.
Mathura (UP): Widows living in Vrindavan of Mathura district have sent 501 rakhis and 75 national flags to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Sulabh International's Media Advisor Madan Jha said on Wednesday that Bindeshwar Pathak, founder of Sulabh International, organized a Rakhi program for widows at Maa Sharda Ashram here on Tuesday. He said that this program is organized every year. Jha said that these rakhis would be delivered to the Prime Minister's Office by a representative of the organization.
He told that till a few years ago, some widows used to go to the Prime Minister's residence to tie Rakhi on the day of Raksha Bandhan. But for the last two years, she could not go to tie rakhi to the Prime Minister due to Kovid. He told that this time the Prime Minister's Office has been contacted and if permission is given, some women can go to the Prime Minister to tie rakhi.
He said that widows and abandoned women living in different ashrams of Vrindavan have prepared special rakhis with photographs of the Prime Minister. These rakhis with colorful photographs of the Prime Minister have been prepared by Maa Sharda and old widows living in Radhatila Ashram.
