Asaduddin Owaisi on Nathuram Godse: Asaduddin Owaisi has described Nathuram Godse, the killer of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, as the country's first terrorist. He has raised the demand for action against the people roaming around the city carrying Godse's photo.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who is often in headlines for his statements, has now given a statement on Nathuram Godse. Asaduddin Owaisi called Nathuram Godse, the killer of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the country's first terrorist. On Friday, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that some people are roaming in Hyderabad with the picture of Nathuram Godse. He was the first terrorist in the country, and Godse shot Gandhi. People are roaming around the city with his photo and the police are sitting silent. It may be known that a few days ago, in a procession taken out in Hyderabad on the occasion of Ram Navami, some people were seen carrying Nathuram Godse's picture in their hands. On that day too, there was a lot of uproar over the inclusion of Godse's picture in the Ram Navami procession.
On Friday, Asaduddin Owaisi, while addressing the people at Munkid Jalsa Youm-ul-Quran at Masjid-e-Umar Farooq Shaikpet, launched a scathing attack on Godse and the people who showed his photo. Owaisi said that someone standing in our city said that I will make India a Hindu nation. The limit was reached when people brought Nathuram Godse's photo to Hyderabad.
Owaisi further said that he does not understand why those people are roaming around with the photo of Nathuram Godse, who was the first terrorist in the country. The one who shot Gandhi. After all this, the police are sitting silent. Owaisi raised the question that who are these people. And what kind of police is this which is sitting silently? If someone used to roam around with a photo of Osama bin Laden, the police would break down the door of his house.
It was reported that the Ram Navami procession in Hyderabad in which Nathuram Godse's picture was shown was led by suspended BJP MLA T. Raja Singh. During the procession led by the controversial leader, some participants were seen dancing to a song and carrying Godse's photo while waving saffron flags.
Hundreds of people took part in the yatra. The yatra started from a temple in Sitarambagh and passed through various areas of Goshamahal, the assembly constituency represented by Raja Singh. Police made elaborate security arrangements for the Shobha Yatra by deploying hundreds of policemen on the procession route, besides using CCTV cameras and drones. After Godse's picture surfaced, there was a lot of ruckus on this issue.
