MI vs RR: Yashasvi Jaiswal's stormy century, Rajasthan Royals set Mumbai Indians a target of 213 runs

The 42nd match of Indian Super Kings (IPL) 2023 is being played between five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). In this match being played at Mumbai's home ground Wankhede Stadium, Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a century while batting brilliantly. With the help of his century, the Royals have given Mumbai Indians a mammoth target of 213 runs.

Batting first after winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals scored 212 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a stormy century for Rajasthan. Jaiswal played an inning of 124 runs in 62 balls with the help of 8 sixes and 16 fours. This is his first century in IPL. Apart from him, other batsmen of the Royals could not perform anything special. For Mumbai Indians, Piyush Chawla and Arshad Khan took two wickets each, and Riley Meredith and Joffra Archer took one wicket each.

Batting first, the Rajasthan team scored 65 runs without losing any wickets in the powerplay. Both Jaiswal and Butler got off to a great start. The first wicket of Rajasthan Royals fell on the score of 72 runs. Jose Butler was dismissed after scoring 18 runs in 19 balls. He was caught by Ramandeep Singh off the bowling of Piyush Chawla. After this Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his first century in IPL 2023. He completed his 100 runs in 53 balls. He is the third player and second Indian to score a century this season. Before him, Harry Brook for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Venkatesh Iyer for Kolkata Knight Riders have scored centuries.
