Police reached the spot after getting information about the accident, pulled out the people trapped in the bus and then took them to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Regarding the accident, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Medical Officer of Samba District Hospital said that three people, including a 13-year-old girl, have died. 17 people have been injured and 7 have been sent to other hospitals as they have sustained multiple injuries. It is believed that the death toll may increase. As of now, the reason for the accident has not been revealed.
The incident is said to have happened late Wednesday evening. Seeing the damaged buses, it is believed that two buses collided head-on. Both the buses were badly damaged. One bus has been blown up. At present, the police are looking for the drivers and are trying to contact the injured and the dead. Efforts are on to identify the dead.
