Kapil Sibal came to the rescue of Rahul Gandhi, saying - there can be no defamation case
Expressing his opposition in a very strong way, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal said that there cannot be a case of defamation.
Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal strongly protested against Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from the Lok Sabha after being convicted in a criminal defamation case for his Modi surname remark, saying that there cannot be a defamation case. Because Rahul Gandhi had said that some people are thieves and among them had taken the names of Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi and another Modi. So if there should have been a defamation case, it should have been done by these people but they did not. The case is filed by a Modi sitting in Surat who has nothing to do with it. Surat court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to 2 years imprisonment in a defamation case. He was expelled from the Lok Sabha the very next day. Congress demonstrated across the country regarding this matter. Many leaders of the opposition supported Rahul Gandhi on this issue.
The controversial comment regarding the Modi surname was given in the year 2019 in Kolar, Karnataka. Surat's BJP MLA Purnesh Modi had filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. Purnesh Modi is considered an RSS worker. He was also active in ABVP.
Ghulam Nabi Azad has clearly said that he is against this decision, in the case of Rahul Gandhi being sentenced to two years in the defamation case and in the matter of snatching the MP. Be it, Rahul or Lalu Prasad Yadav. It is against natural justice. While raising the question, Azad said that the entire Parliament and the Vidhan Sabha would be empty like this.
Another Congress leader Anand Sharma also said that Rahul was disqualified even before he could file an appeal against the court order. This is a wrong decision. It will be quashed by the higher judiciary.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will launch the party's nationwide Satyamev Jayate campaign from Kolar on April 5. Preparation is going on for this. In the presence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders, Rahul Gandhi will give the message of change from the land of Kolar.
