In fact, on Tuesday, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi V.K. Saxena approved the prosecution of Shehla Rashid Shora, former vice-president of the JNU Students' Union and member of AISA, for tweeting against the Indian Army. The LG office on Tuesday said the tweet was intended to promote enmity between different groups and disturb the harmony.
Shehla Rashid tweeted about the Indian Army entering houses at night, lifting boys, ransacking houses, deliberately dropping rations on the floor, mixing oil with rice, Etcetera. In another tweet, Shehla Rashid wrote that 4 people were called to the army camp in Shopian and 'interrogated' (tortured). A mike was placed near them so that the entire area would hear their screams and be horrified. This created an atmosphere of fear in the entire area.
However, the Indian Army rejected the allegations of Shehla Rashid and called them baseless. The Indian Army had said, "Such unverified and fake news is spread by hostile elements and organizations to incite people."
