Espionage: Now China's eye on American satellites
Is China now preparing for Star Wars? After the balloon espionage episode, there is a concern in the world over the news of satellites spying on Chinese satellites. The reason for doubt is the satellite Tongshin Jishu Xian Wuxing-3 moving in the geostationary orbit of the Earth. It is being claimed that the main function of this satellite, which is being called an experimental communication satellite from China, is monitoring the satellites of other countries.
Orbit data of this satellite revolving around the Earth shows that this Chinese satellite vehicle TJS-3 had recently reached close to American satellites. An article published in Space magazine, showing the orbit path of US satellites and a Chinese satellite, claimed that this Chinese spacecraft is orbiting close to the path of a US military satellite in geostationary orbit. Not only this, but recently this Chinese satellite stayed at its place for some time to take a closer look at the American satellites USA 233 and USA 298. It has been claimed that the American satellites closely monitored by the Chinese spacecraft are military communication satellites of the US Space Force.
China's TGS-3 satellite was launched in 2018 into Geostationary Orbit (35,786 km above Earth). After this, another small sub-satellite was also launched from it. This small satellite helps to enhance the capabilities of TJS-3. This action of China has increased the risk of a space war with America.
According to Satellite Dashboard, a web tool that analyzes Space Situational Awareness (SSA) data, the Chinese spacecraft TJS-3 reached as close as 3.8 miles (6.2 km) to USA 233 on 31 October 2022. Little is known about China's TGS-3 satellite, but the US and other countries are also eyeing this Chinese satellite's orbit.
In the past, there have been reports that the Chinese are developing capabilities to disable Elon Musk's Starlink satellites if national security is threatened. Not only this, the People's Liberation Army of China is preparing to launch 12992 low-orbit satellites to counter the 'low-orbit resources' of Musk's SpaceX. Its code name is 'GW'.
America is also prepared for the possibility of such confrontation in space. During the tenure of President Donald Trump, the fourth command of the army was formed in America, which has been named Space Force. Its job is to keep an eye on American resources in space.
