ED has made a big allegation against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the case of a liquor scam. The Enforcement Directorate has said in the court that the accused, including Sisodia, have changed mobile phones 170 times.
The ED has made serious allegations against Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the Rouse Avenue Court of the country's national capital, Delhi. Presenting Amit Arora, arrested in the case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said evidence in the liquor scam was destroyed on a large scale, for which the other accused, including Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, changed their mobile phones several times. An amount of about Rs 1.38 crore was spent on this.
The probe agency ED told the court that Delhi-based businessman Amit Arora and Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister Manish Sisodia used and changed 11 mobile phones during the scam. There was much evidence of liquor scams in these mobiles, due to which they were destroyed.
Rouse Avenue Court has sent businessman Amit Arora to ED custody till December 7. Amit Arora is alleged to have "played a key role in the criminal conspiracy and was also involved in the payment of kickbacks to ensure the said object".
The Enforcement Directorate claimed that key evidence in the case was saved on mobile phones, which at least 36 accused persons destroyed after using 170 mobile phones from May 2022 to August 2022. ED said that they have recovered a total of 17 mobile phones, but the data has been deleted from those mobiles.
