Delhi Liquor Scam: Manish Sisodia wrote a letter to CBI, 'I am busy with the budget, need time'
Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was called for questioning by CBI today for questioning in the matter of Delhi Liquor Policy. But Manish Sisodia has written a letter to the investigating agency seeking a week's time.
Three months after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet in the Delhi Excise Policy case, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been called for questioning today. Manish Sisodia has demanded a week's time from the CBI for questioning. He said that he is currently preparing the budget for the Delhi Assembly. That's why each and every day of them is precious. After making the budget, it has to be presented before the Central Government. Earlier, in a tweet regarding this, Sisodia said that the CBI wants to stop the development happening in Delhi. Officials said Sisodia has not been named as an accused in the charge sheet as the investigation against him and other suspects is still on.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has requested the CBI that being the Finance Minister of Delhi, he is serious about one day at a time, he is busy finalizing Delhi's budget. Sisodia has written a letter seeking time till February 27 from the CBI. He has said in the letter that he will be able to come for the investigation by the end of February. Right now time is important from the point of view of Delhi's budget.
Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted on Saturday, "CBI has called me again on Sunday. They have unleashed the full might of CBI and ED against me. They raided my house, and searched my bank locker but found nothing. I have arranged the best education system in Delhi, and they want to stop it, but I have always cooperated with their investigation and will continue to do so.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Bureau had questioned Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain in Tihar Jail regarding Vijay Nair and other related matters. The CBI had on February 8 arrested Buchibabu Gorantla, former CA of BRS leader K. Kavitha and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. CBI has already filed a charge sheet in this case. An informed source said that the CBI is also in the process of filing a supplementary charge sheet.
When asked about this during a press conference, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal replied that there was no scam in the excise policy. A similar policy has increased the revenue in Punjab by 48 percent, but in Delhi, it is being called a scam as part of a conspiracy.
