All of them will be travelling abroad in connection with the treatment of Sonia Gandhi. However, all these will be virtually included in the CWC meeting. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi will travel abroad for a medical examination. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will travel with the Congress President.

According to Congress sources, Sonia Gandhi may not be present in the country when the Congress leader sits down to elect the next party president, as she will visit her ailing mother after the checkup. However, Rahul Gandhi will return on 4 September to address the party's mega rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan against inflation and unemployment.
