Court issues notice to ED on Satyendar Jain's massage video, AAP shows medical report after BJP's complaint
After the video surfaced of massaging Satyendar Jain lodged in Tihar Jail, the BJP has filed a complaint against it with the police. On the other hand, the legal team of Satyendar Jain has approached the court regarding this, after which the court has issued a notice to the ED.
AAP and BJP have been at loggerheads ever since Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, jailed in a corruption case, got a VIP facility in jail. The Delhi BJP on Saturday filed a police complaint against Satyendar Jain and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after a purported video of him getting a massage inside his cell in Tihar Jail went viral. Along with this, the Delhi BJP leader told Satyendar Jain was Arvind Kejriwal's 'collection agent' and said that it is very shocking that Kejriwal is not taking any action against Satyendar Jain. He said that this shows that Arvind Kejriwal is also involved in this, due to which VVIP facilities are being provided to him.
At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party shared the medical report of jailed Satyendar Jain with its official Twitter handle. The tweet claimed that minister Satyendar Jain has L5-S1 'vertebral disc' injury, for which the doctor has recommended regular physiotherapy and acupressure treatment. The AAP said that the massage shown to Satyendar Jain in the viral video is part of the treatment.
Jailed minister Satyendar Jain's legal team has approached the special court seeking contempt action against the ED alleging that the ED leaked the CCTV footage despite his affidavit in the court. In this regard, Special Judge Vikas Dhul has issued a notice to the ED, which will be heard on November 21.
Talking to the news agency, former PRO of Tihar Jail Sunil Gupta said that "it is visible in the video that fellow prisoners are doing massage. He said that massage is different from physiotherapy, physiotherapy is given in the physiotherapy ward in the hospital." Along with this, he told that under the prison rules, his message is not allowed inside the cell. As far as physiotherapy is concerned, every jail has a physiotherapy center where only physiotherapists or trained specialists perform massages.
