It is alleged that she was driving a Mercedes-Benz at a high speed on the Surya river bridge on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai national highway when the accident took place.
It may be mentioned that apart from Mistry, Jahangir Dinsha Pundole also died in the accident, while his brother Darius Dinsha Pandole and sister-in-law Anahita was seriously injured. After a thorough investigation into the matter and the interrogation of Anahita by police officer Prashant Pardeshi, the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act as well as Section 304 (A) of the IPC for causing hasty or negligence death against her at the Kasa police station in Palghar. ) has been registered.
Following the accidental death of Cyrus Mistry, a report claimed that Anahita Pandole was "wrongly" wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
