Bulldozer reached to demolish house in Joshimath, some people warned of self-immolation
The campaign to demolish the unsafe buildings in Joshimath is going to start today. It is being told that now cracks have appeared in 678 houses. People are getting very sad and emotional as they evacuate their homes. On reaching the bulldozer, some people also warned of self-immolation.
These days a huge crisis is hovering in Devnagari. With each passing day in Joshimath, huge cracks are appearing in the houses due to land subsidence. The families living in the houses have been removed from there and taken to a safe place. It is being told that now cracks have appeared in 678 houses. The campaign to demolish the unsafe buildings will start today i.e. Tuesday. Chamoli district administration has intensified house-to-house surveys. At the same time, a team from the Union Home Ministry will visit Joshimath today.
District Magistrate Khurana said that preparations for the demolition of unsafe buildings have been completed. Declared as an unsafe zone, the buildings which were demolished have been opened. People's belongings are being shifted to another place with the help of SDRF personnel. People are getting very sad and emotional as they evacuate their homes.
A team from Union Home Ministry will visit Joshimath in Chamoli, Uttarakhand today. District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana has given information about this. He said that a team from the Ministry of Jal Shakti had come here and a team from Union Home Ministry would visit Joshimath on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, District Disaster Management Authority Chamoli has issued a bulletin related to disaster management in view of landslides happening in the Joshimath area. According to the bulletin, a total of 678 buildings have developed cracks in the Joshimath Town area. A total of 81 families have been temporarily displaced so far due to security reasons.
