Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country's general budget on 1 February 2023. Halwa Ceremony is held before the presentation of the budget, which is a very old tradition. This time the Halwa ceremony will be celebrated on 26 January. Halwa is made in the Ministry of Finance during the Halwa ceremony. This pudding is distributed to the employees of the Ministry of Finance. Regarding the Halwa Ceremony before the budget, it is believed that any good work should start with a sweet. In order to maintain the secrecy of the budget before its presentation, all the officers associated with it will have to remain in the Ministry of Finance from the day of the Halwa Ceremony till the day of the presentation of the budget i.e. February 1. During this tour, he will stay away from his family and will not contact them in any way.
The Halwa ceremony was not organized last year due to the Corona pandemic. Instead of halwa, all the officers were given sweets in their offices. According to media reports, this time the Halwa Ceremony will be attended by the Union Finance Minister along with the Union Minister of State for Finance, Secretaries of the Ministry of Finance, senior officers and members of the Union Budget Press.
It has been told by the Ministry of Finance that like the last two years, the Union Budget for 2023-24 will be distributed paperless. A "Union Budget Mobile App" was also launched last year for Members of Parliament (MPs) and the general public to read the budget after the completion of the budget presentation process in Parliament. Through the same app, you will be able to read the entire budget in Hindi and English languages. The Ministry has tweeted that after the completion of the budget speech on February 1, the budget documents will be available in the "Union Budget Mobile App".
The Union Budget Mobile App has been designed by the National Informatics Center (NIC). The users of this app should not have any problem in reading the information, for this, the information will be divided into several parts. This information will be available in PDF format in the app. This app has been downloaded more than 1 lakh times on Android, whose users can read documents in both Hindi and English languages.
