The state government has made travel in roadways buses free of cost for sisters on Rakshabandhan this time as in the past. Since Thursday morning, there was a huge crowd of sisters at the roadways bus stands. There was no place to even set foot on the buses. All the buses are going full at Jhalawar depot.
The festival of brother-sister affection will be celebrated with great pomp on Thursday. Sisters have done shopping for their brother on Wednesday itself. On Wednesday, crowds were seen in the market from noon to late at night. There was a tremendous demand for sarees and rakhis in the market and sweets were bought fiercely in sweet shops too. Rakhis, salwar suits, saris, coconut etc. were bought fiercely in the market. Along with this, there were a lot of sales in the shops of jewellery, sweets and gift items. Apart from this, there was a lot of crowd on the buses too. Rakhis ranging from five to 200 rupees were available in the market. Especially for young children, the demand for rakhis made of tattoos and cartoons was high.
Due to the day of the Rakhi festival, Mawa also went from 250 to 300 rupees. Due to this, the price of sweets made from mawa was also more than Rs 300.
