Akshay Kumar gave up Canadian citizenship

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar often faces criticism regarding his Canadian citizenship. He is often criticized as 'Canadian Kumar' by social media trollers due to his Canadian citizenship. They are called good and bad on social media. The Khiladi of Bollywood had earlier promised his fans that he would soon apply for an Indian passport and after years a new update has come out regarding the issue. Akshay has informed that he has applied for a passport to India and at the same time he is giving up his Canadian citizenship.

Akshay Kumar said, "India is everything to me... Whatever I have earned, whatever I have gained is from here, and I am lucky that I got a chance to give back to India. Bad Seems like when people say anything without knowing anything."

Akshay has also talked about why he took Canadian citizenship. Akshay said, "There was a time when 15 of my films flopped consecutively. It was in the 1990s. It was the poor performance of films at the box office that prompted me to take Canadian citizenship."

Akshay further said, my films were not working and had to work. Then a friend of mine advised, he lived in Canada. He said, 'Come here'. After which I applied for citizenship and got Canadian citizenship."

But let us tell you, even after getting Canadian citizenship, Akshay did not shift there. Akshay told the reason for this, and my luck was good. After giving 15 flops, two films became super hits. My friend said, 'Go back, start working again'. After two films became hits, I started getting films. After which it forgot where I have the passport. I never thought about it."

Let us tell you that Akshay Kumar's film 'Selfie' is going to release tomorrow i.e. 24th February. Prior to the film's release, Akshay was reported to have renounced his Canadian citizenship and applied for an Indian passport. Now it has to be seen how much Akshay's fans support him after this news.
