Adani Total Gas announced after new formula, CNG 8.13 and PNG cheaper by Rs 5.06
CNG-PNG Price Update: There has been a big cut in the prices of CNG and PNG. The price of CNG has been reduced by Rs 8 per kg and that of PNG by Rs 5 per cubic centimetre. Gas prices have come down a day after the Central Cabinet implemented the new formula for domestic gas pricing.
After the approval of the amendment in the 2014 guidelines for fixing the price of natural gas, companies have now started reducing the prices of CNG-PNG. In this series, the first Adani Total Gas and Mahanagar Gase have given a big relief in the prices of CNG-PNG. CNG has become cheaper by Rs 8 and PNG prices have come down by Rs 5. Adani Total Gas Limited has cut the price of PNG by Rs 8.13 per kg and Rs 5.06 per cubic centimetre. The new prices have come into effect from 12 midnight on April 8.
Adani Total Gas Limited on Friday announced a reduction in prices of Compressed Natural Gas and Piped Natural Gas in 19 regions. The new rate has been updated. This reduction in natural gas prices has become effective from 8 April 2023. Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) has reduced the price of CNG by Rs 8.13 per kg and PNG by Rs 5.06 per cubic centimetre.
The revised price of CNG from MGL has been increased to Rs 79 per kg and domestic PNG to Rs 49 per SCM. These new prices have come into effect from the midnight of 7th April. With this reduction, CNG has become 49 percent cheaper than petrol and 16 percent cheaper than diesel, while domestic PNG has become 21 percent cheaper than LPG.
The government says that the new formula will reduce the prices of CNG and PNG by up to 10 percent. Union Minister Anurag Thakur had told on Thursday that domestic gas prices have now been linked with imported crude instead of international hub gas. Now the price of domestic gas will be 10 percent of the price of the Indian crude basket. Approval was given to amend the 2014 guidelines for fixing the price of natural gas in the country.
