AAP's victory in Delhi MCD, but lotus blossomed in the areas of Sisodia and Satyendar Jain
The Aam Aadmi Party has crossed the majority mark in the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, but the candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party have faced defeat in the constituencies of Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Minister Satyendar Jain.
The Aam Aadmi Party is jubilant with a landslide victory in the 250-ward Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, in which AAP has won more than 134 seats. Whereas BJP has won 104 seats. On the other hand, lotus has blossomed in all the 3 wards of Shakur Basti, the assembly constituency of Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain, who is lodged in Tihar Jail. Along with this, there are four wards in the Assembly constituency of Environment Minister Gopal Rai, out of which AAP is contesting in 3 wards and Congress is leading in one.
There is an allegation of a liquor scam against Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, in which ED has made many big allegations including erasing evidence on other accused including Sisodia. On the other hand, Satyendar Jain is jailed in a money laundering case, whose jail videos have gone viral before the MCD election voting. It is believed that due to these allegations AAP candidates have faced defeat in Sisodia and Satyendar Jain's area.
